Care before criticism
Start from respect for a place and the people who share it.
About the project
What kind of community do we want to live in?
Urban Care Project began with a simple question: what kind of community do we want to live in?
We believe neighbourhoods flourish when people take practical care of the places they share. Starting with Woodcroft in Western Sydney, the project aims to document local conditions, celebrate improvement, encourage community pride and support practical environmental action.
The long-term vision is to develop a repeatable model for local urban stewardship that may eventually extend to other Western Sydney communities.
The initiative is community-led, independent and at an early stage. It is not a charity, council program, government service or replacement for qualified organisations.
How we work
Start from respect for a place and the people who share it.
Prioritise useful, safe work over noise or recognition.
Document what is seen, done and learned with care.
Make it easier for residents, groups and authorities to contribute.
Focus on local improvements that can be clearly understood and measured.
